Britney Jean Spears (born December 2, 1981) is an American recording artist and entertainer. Born in McComb, Mississippi, and raised in Kentwood, Louisiana, she began performing as a child, landing acting roles in stage productions and television shows.
In December 2012, Spears confirmed that she had begun work on her eighth studio album, adding that she was "collaborating with some new inspiring producers." The album will be released through RCA Records due to the disbandment of Jive Records. On January 11, 2013, Spears confirmed that she would not return for the third season of The X Factor. Later that day, it was also announced that Spears and Trawick had ended their engagement; he was subsequently removed as her co-conservator, restoring her father as the sole conservator.
